Everton’s interim manager, Ferguson revealed that his Everton’s players fought like “warriors” to claim a point at Manchester United on Sunday – and that the Blues’ have underlined their ability to compete with the best.

The Scot kept faith with Iwobi for his second game in charge of the Toffees with the Nigeria international playing the entire duration of the game.

Everton seized the advantage when Victor Lindelof prodded into his own net nine minutes before half-time.

But United hit back on 77 minutes, Mason Greenwood squeezing a low 20-yard strike inside Jordan Pickford’s left post.

Iwobi drew a very good stop from goalkeeper David De Gea in the closing minutes of the draw in what was his 14th game in the EPL this season

Despite failing to score in his last 13 games. It has been a new lease for Iwobi as well, who at Old Trafford had 39 touches, completed 26 passes, attempted five tackles and earned a decent 6.7 rating by Whoscored.com.

“I thought he was tremendous, they all were,” Ferguson said in his post-match interview.

“Alex Iwobi was incredible, the distances he was covering, it was an all-round tremendous effort.

Everton will hope to maintain their form when they host Leicester City in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game at Goodison Park.
