Herconomy, a women-focused organisation with focus on gender equality, has advocated gender equality in Nigeria to boost the national economy.

In a statement made available to our correspondent in Lafia on Tuesday, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Herconomy, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, said the organisation was making efforts to ensure that Nigerian women are positively impacted to add value to the society.

While felicitating with women across the world on the occasion of the 2022 International Women’s Day celebration, Durosinmi-Etti said Herconomy had over the years impacted the lives of over 80,000 women through capacity building, mentorship and funding because of its focus on financing women and projects that would elevate their status in the country.

She said, “When the life of a woman is positively impacted, value is created not just for her but for the nation at large. We connect women to economic opportunities such as grants, loans, jobs, and discounts”.

Durosinmi-Etti added that Herconomy, in its efforts to bring more opportunities to women in Nigeria, would be holding its 2022 conference on March 11 in Lagos, with the theme, ‘Action To Impact: Creating Inclusive Pathways For Women.’

She said, “The conference would bring together stakeholders to discuss issues that affect women as well as co-create solutions that accelerate the attainment of gender equality.

“We would also be recognising and celebrating women who have achieved remarkable successes across diverse areas and field while introducing our latest innovations to them, primarily the savings and fintech features and unveil how these components can help more women achieve their financial goals seamlessly”.
