NUC approves new programmes for Elizade varsity

The National Universities Commission has approved five additional undergraduate programmes for Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State.

The commission, in a letter signed by its Deputy Executive Secretary, Dr Gidado Kumo, disclosed that nursing science, medical laboratory science, cyber security, sociology and political science had been approved to commence in the 2019/2020 academic session.

The approval was made public in a statement signed by the school’s Registrar, Omololu Adegbenro, on Wednesday which also said the new programmes would bring the degree courses in the school to 38.

The statement read, “It should, however, be noted that all the programmes of the university presented for the National Universities Commission’s accreditation have received full accreditation status.

“Similarly, the various professional bodies, such as the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and others have given full accreditation to the relevant professional programmes.”

The statement also disclosed that the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olukayode Amund, commended the commission for carrying out a thorough exercise and assured that the institution would continue to deliver on its mandate of providing quality education to its students.
