The Nigerian Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, has revealed that plans are ongoing to re-lay the Stephen Keshi pitch ahead of Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone, Sports Extra reports.

Several Super Eagles players and team officials have expressed their displeasure with the state of the Asaba pitch in recent times.

Pinnick, however, assured that there won’t be any reason to complain as work is ongoing to re-grass the pitch ahead of the game next month.

“We are working on the pitch ahead of the game and there won’t be any reason to complain again,” Pinnick told Sports Extra.

“We appreciate Governor Okowa for the tremendous support given to the Super Eagles and by extension, the Nigeria Football Federation.

“As my Governor and father said, Delta State will begin to play a more prominent role in the programs of the NFF and the Super Eagles.”
