Ekiti State Government has begun the process of recruiting 1,000 teachers for secondary schools across the state.

The Chairman, Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission, Chief Babatunde Abegunde, said the exercise would be merit-based and transparent in line with the belief and principle of fairness introduced by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

Abegunde said in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday that “Only holders of the National Certificate of Education and university degrees in education in subjects taught in secondary schools are qualified to apply.”

According to him, application forms would be available online from Monday, September 23 (today) while submission date for completed forms online is  Monday October 7.

He enjoined interested applicants to note that they would be required to pay an examination fee of N1,000 to complete the process.

The TESCOM boss urged the prospective applicants to visit the state website to access the forms and other relevant information about the recruitment exercise.

He said, “Applicants must print the acknowledgment slip on the last page of their forms which will serve as their entry pass during the qualifying examination to hold at a later date”.

It would be recalled that the State Universal Basic Education Board began a similar exercise for the recruitment of 1,100 teachers into the state public primary schools a month ago.
