Man kills mother, cooks her brains for not giving him money to buy alcohol

Addiction can make a demon out of men. A man in Chhattisgarh’s Raigad murdered his mother simply because she refused to give him money to buy alcohol.
However, this did not satiate the man’s rage. He cracked his mother’s skull open and took her brains out and then tried to cook and eat them.
He removed his mother’s brain and tried to fry it in a pan.
The dastardly incident took place in Botalda village of the Kharsia district of Raigarh. The accused Sitaram Oraon used to live with his mother and was addicted to alcohol.
He would often ask his mother to give him money to buy alcohol. However, tired of her son’s addiction, the mother Phulo Bai refused to lend him any more money.
Incensed by the denial, Sitaram took a sharp weapon and struck his mother.
He then proceeded to crack her skull open and debrained her. He put her brain in a pan to fry. Before he could eat the brains, his younger brother’s wife reached the spot.
Upon seeing his sister-in-law, Sitaram fled his home and ran.
The woman immediately informed her husband about her mother-in-law’s death and a complaint was filed with the police. When police launched a hunt for Sitaram, he was found hiding in the locality, wearing blood-stained clothes.
Upon interrogation, he admitted to his crime.
Police have filed a case against Sitaram under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and have said that he is mentally unstable.
According to Sitaram’s younger brother, he had tried to convince his brother to stop drinking, Sitaram would start fighting with him. Fed up with the constant fights, the younger brother moved out of his house, leaving Sitaram to live with his mother.
