Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged the club to sort Bukayo Saka’s future as soon as possible following reports that Liverpool and Manchester United were monitoring him for a swoop in the summer.

The 18-year-old has been impressive for the Emirates outfit this season, posting scintillating performances despite being played out of position by the Spaniard.

Saka has managed 10 assists and bagged three goals for the Gunners in his debut season with the senior team.

The England youth international of Nigerian descent proved his worth again after delivering a standout display in the Gunners’ 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday.

“It is something the club has to get sorted,” Arteta told SkySports.

“My priority is that he continues to play like he is doing and he keeps developing. He is always asking the right questions.

“He is a very brave guy. Every time he gets into the final third, he is trying to cause problems for the opponent.

“He deserves these chances, he is doing very well and that’s why he is in the team.”

The former Manchester City assistant manager also believes Saka can still improve on his game.

“Well, I’m never happy when something happens like that (Kolasinac injury).

“With Kola he’s been very unlucky with injuries; Bukayo had some issues as well before the game but then he started to play after a few minutes.

“It was a great contribution offensively but as well there are other moments when he showed today that there is still a lot of margin for him for improvement, and he needs to keep his feet on the ground and we have to help him to do that.”
