Otis Hughley’s side narrowly lost 19-18 to Mozambique in the first quarter but rallied back in style to thrash their opponents 23-9 in the second quarter.
They maintained their lead in the game and finished the third quarter with a 25-13 points win before wrapping it up in the fourth quarter with a 19-10 win at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade.
Promise Amukamara was fantastic for D’Tigress, leading her team with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists while the duo Ezinne Kalu and Adaora Elonu scored 11 and 10 points respectively.
Aisha Mohammed posted nine points and one assist.
D’Tigress’ next game is against hosts Serbia on Saturday and with a win, they will qualify for the Olympics.
