NETWORK AGAINST CHILD TRAFFICKING, ABUSE AND LABOUR- (NACTAL) MARKS WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR

  • As many children experience trafficking and are exposed to high risk of sexual exploitation, slavery, labour, need to support their families as a result of extreme poverty and so on, the need to end child labour is inevitable.

The Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour- NACTAL staged a peaceful protest against child labour today in Abuja to commemorate World Day Against Child Labour.

NACTAL, which is a coalition of various NGOs who work in the area of child right, fight against human trafficking, protection of women and other related issues ended the protest at the headquarters of the Ministry of Women Affairs.

Addressing NACTAL members, the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, represented by the Director Child Development, Ministry of Women Affairs,  Mrs Jumai Muhammad says the role of NACTAL can not be over emphasized as there is urgent need to end child labour all around the globe and particularly in Nigeria.

In her vote of thanks, the FCT Coordinator of NACTAL, Mrs Shalom Carol appreciated the Minister for receiving them and assured her of NACTAL’s commitment in ensuring total eradication of child labour in Nigeria.
