Flooding: Fayemi lifts EKSU students

The Ekiti State Government on Wednesday distributed relief materials to students of the Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti whose off-campus hostels were affected by flooding caused by  heavy rains  at  the weekend.

The materials including  cash, food items and disinfectants  were given to  about 200  students affected.

Governor Kayode Fayemi said his administration “has taken steps aimed at curbing a recurrence of the natural disaster”.

Fayemi, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Biodun Omoleye, at the event, lamented that the students were displaced  by  the flood.

He said  the materials were procured to meet their immediate needs, promising  that  the state government  would cater for the losses incurred by the students.
