FG sends inspection teams to six new colleges

The Federal Ministry of Education has said that a technical team will be visiting the proposed sites of the six newly established colleges of education in preparation for the take-off of the institutions by October 2020.

The ministry noted on Monday that the team, which includes officials from the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Abuja, would focus on the state of facilities in the tertiary institutions.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Mr Ben Goong, stated this in a statement issued in Abuja, while naming the locations of the new colleges across six states.

He said, “The Federal Ministry of Education wishes to clarify the locations of the colleges as follows: Jama’are College of Education in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State; Odugbo College of Education in Apa Local Government Area  of Benue State; Isu College of Education in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State; Ekiadolor College of Education in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State; Iwo College of Education in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State; and Gidan Madi College of Education in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

“Letters to this effect have already gone to the relevant state governors, while a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Education and the NCCE will be visiting the benefitting states to inspect and assess the sites in the coming weeks, all in preparation for the take-off of the colleges in October 2020.”
