The acting Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Prof. Olubunmi Ajayi, said on Wednesday that EKSU College of Medicine had received a five-year full accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
In a statement by EKSU Head, Directorate of Information, Bode Olofinmuagun, the VC expressed his delight at the development.
Ajayi said, “The college can now go ahead to hold the final professional Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery examination very soon.
The statement read, “The long awaited accreditation of the MBBS programme of the College of Medicine, EKSU, has finally come as the MDCN has granted it full accreditation for five years.
“This was conveyed to the university through an email from the Medical Council.”
He praised Governor Kayode Fayemi and the parents of the students for supporting the school.
