The Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Mr Foluso Daramola, said the state government had approved N248.5m for the payment of the May/June 2020 West African Examination Council fees of the Senior Secondary School 3 pupils in public schools.
Daramola, however, warned principals and registrars of all public secondary schools against the collection of any fee that the state government did not approve from pupils.
A statement by the Assistant Director, Information, Ministry of Education, Kunle Adeniyi, stated that the amount was “for the payment of the May/June 2020 WASSCE fees of 14,242 SSS 3 pupils in public secondary schools in the state.”
According to Adeniyi, the commissioner reiterated the state government’s commitment to making education accessible to all and sundry in the state.
