Delta to build teacher training centre

The Delta State Government has approved the construction of the Phase 2 of the proposed Teachers Professional Development Centre  in  Owa-Oyibu, Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.

The  state Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah,  said  this after the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday.

According to him, the centre will be used for  training  and retraining  teachers.

The approval for the  project was given in December 2017.

The council also approved the upgrade of facilities at Army Day Secondary School, Effurun, Uwvie Local Government Area and Zik Grammar School, Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area.
