Following the protest embarked upon by the students of the Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State, on Monday, the management of the institution has said peace and normalcy have returned to the campus.

The students had staged a protest against alleged incessant invasion of the female hostels by some unknown men.

The protesters alleged that the intruders were molesting female students in the hostels and had been stealing their money, phones and other valuables, while the school management did nothing about it.

But the management, in a statement issued by the Registrar, Mr Wale Aderibigbe, on Wednesday, said it had addressed the matter and necessary security measures had been put in place on the campus.

The statement read in part, “On Monday, a 13-man student representatives’ body met with the university management to rub minds together on how to resolve all grievances and irritants, which led to the unrest.

“At the end of the meeting, an action plan was put in place not only to uncover the mystery ‘black man’ harassing female students, but also meet other requests listed by the students.”
