Dr Ismail Jibrin of the Midwestern University, United States, has said collaboration is required for development in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Jibrin spoke in an interview with journalists in Gombe State at a two-day interaction on ‘Initiatives and Potential for Collaborations in Biomedical Science Research,’ organised by the Directorate of Research and Innovation,  Gombe State University.

He said, “The more people we engage and the more ideas; the better you get answers and that is what is happening all over the world. A single research can have 20 to 50 people. So, the best thing is collaboration. No single group or individual can achieve much except with collaboration.”

Also, Prof.  Abdulkadir Abba of the Northwestern University said collaboration could start by getting people from different areas together.

The Director of Research and Innovation at the Gombe State University, Prof. Adepoju Adedimeji, said the  essence of the two-day interaction was to explore the potential for collaborations in the area of biomedical research and training between GSU and other international institutions.
