NAOC Chairman, Guido Brusco, disclosed this on Saturday in Obie, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State during the company’s annual Green River Project Farmers’ Day celebration, with its theme, ‘Farm and Fortune’.
Brusco said the firm, through the project, had impacted over 100 communities in the Niger Delta region, adding that the target was to improve human capacity in line with the United Nations development goals.
He pointed out that NAOC also trained the farmers on modern farming techniques as well as agro-value added services that would engender food sufficiency.
He said, “The Farmers’ Day is a very important activity in the Eni calendar as it affords us the opportunity to express our core belief in partnering and improving our local communities in line with the United Nations sustainable development goals as it relates to food security, eradicating hunger and promoting sustainable agriculture.”
