Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has extended his contract with South African Premier Soccer League side Kaizer Chiefs.

Akpeyi signed a two-year deal that will keep him with the Amakhosi till June 2022.

Chiefs announced the extension via a statement on their website on Wednesday.

The club also announced the extension of the contracts of two other players.

“Kaizer Chiefs can announce that the club has extended the contracts of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, centre forward Bernard Parker and midfielder Willard Katsande’s contracts,” part of the statement said.

“Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi who joined Chiefs in January 2019 has earned himself a two-year contract extension to June 2022,” Chiefs added.

Akpeyi made his debut for Chiefs in a league game on February 9, 2019 in a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates.

He became the club’s first choice after injury ruled out Itumeleng Khune.

Akpeyi has featured in 18 games in all competitions for Chiefs in the 2019/20 season, making 16 league appearances and two in the Telkom Knockout Cup.
